Avigayl Sharp's first novel, OFFSEASON, was published in May 2026 by Astra House (US) and Weidenfeld & Nicolson (UK). Called "one of the sharpest and liveliest debuts of the decade" in Vulture, it has been longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. Her story collection, SICKNESS, HEALTH, will be published in 2027.

Her fiction has also appeared in publications including The Paris Review, Granta, and McSweeney'sand her work has received support from Yaddo, the Granum Foundation, and Lighthouse Works. She is the recipient of the 2023 DISQUIET Literary Prize, a Pushcart Prize, and a 2023–2024 writing fellowship at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
 
Avigayl holds a BA from Wesleyan University and an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers in Austin, Texas. Originally from Chicago, she is currently based in Brooklyn.
